Soft Skills Training
What is soft skills training? Soft skills training workshops help you to develop the interpersonal and behavioural skills required in the workplace. In the dynamic landscape of today’s professional world, technical expertise is no longer the sole determining factor of success. Employers are increasingly recognising the indispensable value of soft skills – those intangible, interpersonal qualities that go beyond qualifications and credentials. This realisation has given rise to the concept of soft skills training, a cornerstone of personal and professional development.
The term soft skills includes a range of attributes that define how we interact, communicate, and collaborate with others. They include skills like communication, teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, emotional intelligence, leadership, and time management. Unlike hard or technical skills, which are specific to a job or industry, soft skills are transferable across various contexts, making them invaluable assets in any career path.
While technical skills are essential, they’re often complemented by soft skills that shape how effectively these technical abilities are put into practice. Soft skills training bridges the gap between knowledge and application. It equips individuals with the tools to build rapport, manage conflicts, inspire teamwork, and communicate persuasively – skills that are vital for professional growth and personal fulfilment.
About our Soft Skills Training
Participants
The participants for our soft skills training can be from any organisation and at any level. We adapt the training to suit your needs which means it can help anyone whatever their work situation.
Duration
The duration of our training courses and workshops depends on the subject, the desired outcomes and your needs. With virtual training they tend to be between 60 minutes to three hours. With in-person workshops they tend to be one hour to a full day or multiple days.
Soft Skills Training Agenda
Each one of our soft skills courses has a specific agenda which can then be tailored to suit your needs. This makes it more relevant and useful.
Outcomes
Whichever of our training courses you choose the outcomes are defined beforehand. This means you can expect certain actions or learning outcomes following completion of the session.
Pre-workshop
When a pre-workshop task is required this usually means one of our online questionnaires which are quick to complete. We don’t make any pre-workshop task too onerous in time, just useful for the session.
Post workshop
Every training workshop offering is followed up by an email containing a pdf of the session material and email access to the trainer. This means you can ask further questions or get more clarity on areas you are interested in.
In-person or virtual
Nearly all of our workshops are available as both in-person or virtual sessions. Of course, there are advantages and disadvantages to both, and you may be surprised by what people prefer. It depends on the subject and the practicality of getting people together.
Number of Participants in our Soft Skills Training
Our one to one coaching involves just one participant. Some of our virtual sessions have had up to 150 participants. We tailor the session to suit the number of participants you require to benefit from the training.
Tailoring the training to your needs
We tailor our training in a number of ways. Firstly we tailor the content to your industry or sector, whether this be law, finance, leisure, charity or whatever it might be. Then we tailor it to achieve the objective you want the training to achieve. We adapt and write new content to make sure it is relevant to the participants. And finally we tailor it during the session and adapt it to the needs and questions the participants have in the training. This all means you get the training the organisation and the participants want.

Soft Skills Training Reviews
A truly inclusive, insightful, and empowering training
I recently attended the Working Effectively at Clifford Chance training session and found it to be an incredibly valuable and uplifting experience. One of the standout aspects was the smaller group size, which created a more inclusive environment. Everyone had the opportunity to feel seen, heard, and genuinely included in the discussions.
The session encouraged open dialogue, and participants were free to express their views and share personal experiences without hesitation. This openness was largely thanks to Martin, who facilitated the session with warmth, empathy, and professionalism. Martin fostered a safe and supportive space where people felt comfortable being honest and reflective, which made the session not only informative but also deeply engaging.
Overall, the training was a brilliant example of how thoughtful facilitation and a well-structured format can empower individuals to connect, learn, and grow together. Highly recommended!
Five-star training!
I attended Martin’s session on working effectively in the workplace and you can tell he genuinely cares about the people he is training- he was very interactive throughout, delivered super helpful takeaways (especially relevant in professional settings) and also extended candid advice on how to keep up with an incredibly fast-paced and often times challenging career environment. I highly, highly recommend Martin’s sessions if you have the opportunity to attend them, I am confident you will leave the room with more wisdom.
Bespoke Soft Skills Training for Shipboard Leadership
The Bespoke Soft Skills Training for Shipboard Leadership was very well received. Participants found the sessions engaging, practical, and highly beneficial, with appreciation expressed for the instructor’s time, travel, and expertise.
The interactive discussions and exercises were effective in applying leadership and communication concepts to real shipboard situations. Several attendees noted they could use the material to address challenges with difficult crew members.
Overall, this training was viewed as excellent, relevant, and valuable in enhancing leadership effectiveness and promoting stronger communication across the fleet.
Presenting with Impact Virtually
I recently attended the “Presenting with Impact Virtually” training workshop led by Martin Chapman, and it was a thoroughly engaging and practical experience. Martin’s delivery was professional yet friendly, making the virtual format feel interactive and enjoyable. The session was well-structured, with clear slides and practical examples. I highly recommend his training services for anyone looking to improve their presentation skills in a virtual setting.
Comprehensive and Engaging Training
I recently attended Martin’s ‘Working Effectively’ and ‘Professional Business Communication’ online training sessions and both were excellent. Martin is very engaging and ensures that participants all contribute to discussion. The sessions were very useful, drawing on real anecdotes and scenarios relevant to our level of work. I found both training sessions impactful and will carry the lessons learned into my work. Thanks Martin!
