Management Coaching

Management coaching helps managers achieve more by developing their skills and approach in a wide variety of situations.

Management coaching builds on training

Management coaching takes the managers skills and approach to a higher level than that achieved through management training. Management training gives ideas, strategies and tips for improvement. It also gives an opportunity for development through role play and feedback.

Management coaching goes further than this by exploring development in specific situations, over a period of time.

What is management coaching?

Management coaching is the skill of helping a manager develop their approach through reflection, encouraged with questions, observations and comment. Coaching does not mean telling, nor does it mean giving advice., which by a strict definition is mentoring or consulting. However most managers who request coaching also request this.

Management coaching timings

Management coaching sessions are adapted to your needs and to the investment you would like to make. Typically we start with a two hour session, as it takes this for the coach to get a good feel for the situation.

Location for management coaching

For best results a face to face meeting works best. If this is not possible a video call works sufficiently well as a start.

Number of management coaching sessions

This depends on the objectives and needs for the coaching. Sometimes one session will achieve the objective.

Management coaching objectives

The objectives we agree are based on the business need and can include:

  • To improve confidence in a specific area.
  • To get an external viewpoint on an internal situation.
  • To suggest skill development ideas relating to a specific situation.
