This page describes our Microaggression Training in some depth. Please get in contact to get a full proposal and cost.
In today’s diverse and interconnected world, fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment is paramount for organizational success. However, despite efforts to promote diversity and equality, subtle forms of discrimination and bias, known as microaggressions, can still persist in the workplace. These seemingly innocuous remarks or behaviors can have a significant impact on the well-being and productivity of employees, particularly those from marginalized groups. To address this issue effectively, many companies are turning to microaggression training as a proactive measure to create a more inclusive workplace culture.
In addition to addressing microaggressions on an individual level, training programs also encourage organisations to examine systemic factors that contribute to workplace inequality. This includes evaluating hiring practices, promotion criteria, and organizational policies to identify and address systemic barriers to diversity and inclusion. By taking a comprehensive approach to addressing workplace discrimination, you can create lasting change and foster a culture of belonging for all employees.

Participants
Any and all people in your organisation. You may consider making this mandatory as those who might need it most may not sign up for it.
From a business perspective, investing in microaggression training makes good sense. Research has shown that diverse and inclusive workplaces are not only more innovative and productive but also more attractive to top talent. By demonstrating a commitment to diversity and inclusion through training initiatives, organizations can enhance their reputation as employers of choice and position themselves for long-term success in an increasingly diverse marketplace.
Microaggression Training Duration
We tailor this microaggression training to suit your needs, both in terms of content and duration. The training can go from a 90-minute session to a full 3 hour workshop.
Agenda
The following gives an overview to the agenda of this microaggression training. Some clients decide to combine this with unconscious bias training and micro-misogyny training.
- Introduction and objectives.
- Examples of behaviours at work – are these examples of microaggression?
- Microaggression defined.
- When and where have you seen microaggression?
- Participants’ observations of microaggression discussed.
- When and where might you have used microaggression?
- How easy it is to employ microaggression.
- Situations to look out for microaggression.
- Personal actions.
Outcomes
One of the key objectives of microaggression training is to increase awareness and understanding of the different forms that microaggressions can take. By providing examples and facilitating open discussions, participants learn to recognize subtle forms of discrimination and understand how they can perpetuate systemic inequalities. This heightened awareness is essential for creating a culture where employees feel empowered to speak up when they witness or experience microaggressions.
Moreover, microaggression training helps employees develop skills for responding effectively to microaggressions when they occur. This may involve techniques such as assertive communication, boundary-setting, and bystander intervention. By equipping employees with the tools to address microaggressions in real-time, organizations can prevent these incidents from escalating and mitigate their harmful impact on individuals and teams.
Pre-workshop
Participants are sent an overview of the training with the agenda, which we will supply for you.
Post workshop
We suggest that each participant completes the training with at least one practical action to implement. You might also consider internal follow up sessions for people to discuss and pick up key themes that need addressing in your organisation. If you require help with this we can help.

Reviews
A truly inclusive, insightful, and empowering training
I recently attended the Working Effectively at Clifford Chance training session and found it to be an incredibly valuable and uplifting experience. One of the standout aspects was the smaller group size, which created a more inclusive environment. Everyone had the opportunity to feel seen, heard, and genuinely included in the discussions.
The session encouraged open dialogue, and participants were free to express their views and share personal experiences without hesitation. This openness was largely thanks to Martin, who facilitated the session with warmth, empathy, and professionalism. Martin fostered a safe and supportive space where people felt comfortable being honest and reflective, which made the session not only informative but also deeply engaging.
Overall, the training was a brilliant example of how thoughtful facilitation and a well-structured format can empower individuals to connect, learn, and grow together. Highly recommended!

I highly, highly recommend Martin’s sessions if you have the opportunity to attend them, I am confident you will leave the room with more wisdom.
