Background
As technology advances so the role and responsibilities of business services staff need to evolve. The cohort of assistants provide an outstanding and very much appreciated role in the workings of the firm. And as technology develops so their role is required to adapt.
Need
The need for the training programme was to support assistants in their approach to changes in their role.
Activity
We designed and delivered a three hour in-person workshop. the agenda was tailored to their roles and typical scenarios in the day to day life of an assistant. The workshop style meant participants were engaged and involved throughout the session.
We looked at people’s natural response to change, past experiences, positives and negatives. The role of personality drivers was explored as well as influences on our approach to change. We then looked at the importance of clear messaging and the role of management in any change programme.
Outcomes
The assistants completed the session buzzing with questions, ideas and excitement on the change ahead. Managers followed up by involving the assistants in idea generation for how to work more efficiently following the new ways of working.
