We’re talking about ideas to help people improve how they do their work. Like all the ideas we do they are easy to understand and simple to apply.
The Free time management tip sheet gives you lots of ideas and strategies for you to use to get the most from your time.
Ideas include:
- How to organise and improve your daily planning.
- When to plan.
- How to use to do lists.
- Managing your day more effectively.
- How to stop emails from dominating your day.
- How to work with your natural energy levels.
Time Management is all about behaviours so you will need to work out which ideas will work for you. There are some very robust ways of working which work for a lot of people so you can try these first. We suggest you try one tip at a time, give it a chance for a few days or a few weeks then review. Remember behavioural change can one of the hardest things to do, but these tips should be fairly simple to implement. Of course this tip sheet is just a taster, so we hope you like it and then go on to buy our training, or ask your organisation to do so.
Time management has four key areas:
- Your role; including your objectives and work boundaries.
- Your manager; including the level of support you have.
- Self organisation; how you go about doing your work.
- Interaction with others; how you work with other people.
This tip sheet is mainly about the third point; self organisation. For more help with personal efficiency go to www.beta.itd.com/personal-efficiency. Personal efficiency is a form of advanced time management in that it takes your understanding to the next level.
