Communication & Presentation Workshop

From their 5 main hospitals, and in the community, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of lifelong, general and specialist care, as well as clinical research, innovation, education and training. They’re a diverse and welcoming organisation and are incredibly proud of their 22,700 staff and the dedication they show to patients and each other.

They aim to be outstanding in everything they do and to provide high quality and compassionate care and experience to all of their patients and families.

Background

The wider team of people in the GSTT Foundation get together from time to time. They are from a diverse group of functional areas, with some working together on projects and others just aware of each others roles.

Need

The need was for a highly engaging, interactive workshop. It needed to give the team ideas and new perspectives on communication. It also needed to give ideas on presenting within the context of meetings. This is the kind of presentation many people make, which is less formal but still needs to be professional, clear and have impact.

Activity

We developed an in person 90 minute session.

The agenda was packed with ideas and involved the participants discussing with their neighbours, in multiple break out conversations. The content was focussed on practical ideas that could be used straight away.

The result was a fast moving workshop with everyone engaged all the way through.

Participant feedback

“Very interesting.”

“Excellent, thought provoking ideas.”

“I really liked the piece on behavioural change.”

Client Comment

“Martin delivered a really engaging and useful in-person workshop on communication and presenting skills. What made it so good was Martin’s willingness to work with us beforehand to understand who his audience would be and their needs, and then tailor the both the content and the delivery to suit. The result was pitch-perfect and met all of our objectives.” Peter Webb Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation
