Typical project failings
Here are some typical project failings that have been communicated to us during our project management training:
1. Over optimistic time deadlines.
2. Not identifying the work was a project in the first place, which meant the planning was not carried out thoroughly enough.
3. Not communicating with those impacted but not involved in a project.
4. Not really understanding other people’s priorities and workload, especially with those directly involved in the project.
Looking back and considering why projects fail, or at least why there were issues, can be a great way of improving on future projects.
