Gilead has become a leading biopharmaceutical company with a rapidly expanding product portfolio, growing pipeline of investigational drugs and approximately 5,000 employees in offices across four continents. ITD have worked with offices in US Europe and middle East. In this project the finance team had been through a major change programme

Their Director recognised the need for an activity which would help the team move on. We put together a mix of sessions; discussion, fun activities and team working. We used a technique to help the team stop reflecting on the past and start looking to the future.

Background

Gileadare an international . ITD have worked with offices in US Europe and middle east. Their people are highly professional individual specialist often with graduate and post graduate qualifications.

The finance team had been through a major change programme focussed on moving some of their people to a central services function in a different country. This meant a break up of the team. Now that this process had been complete the team needed to rebuild and focus on the future and the services they needed to provide the business.

 

Objectives

The Director recognised the need for an activity which would help the team move on from the change they had experienced. He wanted them to draw a line on the past challenges and focus on the future. But he also wanted them to have fun and start to think of themselves as a new team.

Solution

We put together a mix of facilitated sessions with a blend of discussion, fun activities and team working which all pointed to the future. We also used a technique to help the team stop reflecting on the past and start looking to the future. This was a two day session based in a boutique hotel inLondon, which was chosen as a reward for the team and also to motivate their future work. It involved day and evening activities.

 

Results

The main outcomes of this session were:

  1. The team said goodbye to the past and embraced the future.
  2. The team created not just a new culture but an entire identity for their team.
  3. The energy that was produced during and following the session created an amazing atmosphere.
